Re: SSAA possible?

Thanks that kind of worked nicely. Set the game to 1280x720, the resolution in dgVoodoo2 to 5K and my monitor is 1440p. The 3D now renders nicely in 5K while the 2D elements are sharp and big.

SSAA possible?

Dunno how active the developement of dgVoodoo2 is, but would it be possible to add Super Sampling (SSAA) as Anti-aliasing option into it? MSAA is mostly nice but on some games it can cause graphical issues, like blocky shadows . (similar things, amogst pixelated textures, can happen if you force the …

Re: Reasons to hate modern games

in Milliways
1- They are not proper games, they're basically just like making a game in the rpg maker 2000. Noone bothers to create a new engine anymore. Everything has to be a quick cash grab rpg maker game nice.

Re: How to get old Windows XP games to run on Windows 11?

in Windows
You could also give dgVoodoo2 a try: http://dege.freeweb.hu/dgVoodoo2/dgVoodoo2/ In the folder, copy all the DLL's from the .."MS/x86/" folder into where the .exe of the game is. Then start "dgVoodooCpl", click on "Add" and choose the game folder you put the DLL's in, then try these settings and see …

MUNT - Pre-set initial volume

Is there a way to make MUNT always start at 50% volume and not go above 50% unless manually changed? As of now, everytime it starts and a device connects (i.e. DOSBox) it always goes to 100%, even if beforehand you pulled the volume slider down to 50%. On most games the 100% is just way too loud and …

Re: Application doesn't recognise its own CD

Try mounting it in Windows and then on DOSBox only add this: mount d d:\ -t cdrom -usecd 0 -ioctl Change "d:\" to whatever drive letter Windows assigns the mounted image file, i.e. "e:\" or "h:\" etc. Change the number at "-usecd" to whatever number appears left of the assigned drive letter when you …

Re: DOSBox and full screen on 4:3 monitor

Most DOS Games are 320x200 or 640x480. There is no way to get them to 1024x768 without causing scrambled pixel mess or having to live with a super blurry picture. Your options are 960x600 and 640x480 with black bars for 320x200 and 640x480 games/programmes respectively.

Re: Why do some old games has no in-game music in it?

in Windows
I always thought Half-Life didn't have music until I got the Steam version many years later. For some reason the CD music never played and I thought the game was just silent for the atmosphere. Nowadays I can't even stand playing it with the music on, it feels so off.

Re: DOSBox vs DOS 6.22 in DOSBox

Some DOS Games (like Pizza Connection, the German version of Pizza Tycoon) do require a proper DOS on an HDD image with mouse and sound drivers installed for the music/sound to work. But other than that there doesn't seem to be that much of an advantage over regular DOSBox.
