Re: Windows XP + High refresh rate LCD issues

Looking at the title of this thread, this might not be the right place to discuss Win98 high refresh rates. As anything more than 1080p@60Hz requires DVI dual link, I guess that dual link support was never achieved under windows 98. Looking back at the market in 2004, there seem to be not many …

Re: Windows XP + High refresh rate LCD issues

I tested 4200ti and 6800gt with all drivers from version 29 up to 66.94 with a dual link DVI cable at 1080p with my BenQ 2411Z. Using both driver settings as well as power strip I was unable to achieve any refresh rates above 70Hz. 144Hz was working under XP with the 7900gs, didn’t test the other …

Re: Win98SE X58 USB 2.0 onboard driver

Sound is working using these instructions: https://www.vogons.org/viewtopic.php?f=62&t=71449 System is stable running CS1.5 USB still only at 1.1 I suspect IRQ problems with USB 2.0, as there seem to be many USB 2.0 devices in device manager when enabled, and many different IRQ, both more than when …

Win98SE X58 USB 2.0 onboard driver

Onboard USB on my Foxconn X58 Flaming Blade board with X5675 CPU is not working perfectly and crashes at certain times and settings. Motherboard is not supported and has no drivers for 98. However it works stable after a fresh install and rloew patchmem. GPU is 7900GTX stable with patched 82 drivers …

Re: Windows XP + High refresh rate LCD issues

I tested Powerstrip custom resolutions, but it seems to be broken on this setup. At 1024x768 higher refresh rates up to 100Hz worked, but nothing worked at 1080p, only 60Hz. I read somewhere that the newer drivers are the problem. So I would need to use an older GPU and older drivers maybe. Which …

Re: Windows XP + High refresh rate LCD issues

I am again working on this ;) I have the BenQ 2411z 144hz 1080p monitor that supports 144hz only over a dual link DVI cable and not via HDMI. I use it with an Asus 7900gs AGP under 98 and XP. I am having problems getting more than 60hz to work. In 98 the modded drivers don’t offer a setting for …

Re: Windows XP + High refresh rate LCD issues

Interesting thread! I tried a GeForce 7900gs with a xg2401 1080p 144hz Monitor using a dvi to hdmi passive Adapter in Windows xp and 93 drivers, but I couldn’t get more than 60hz or 65hz to work. It turns out that hdmi supports only dvi single link which is 60hz max in 1080p. Now I think about …
