the system is just DOS at present no 95/98 It's really got me. As the exact same drive is showing as 128mb. I'm really stuck.

I'm still running an original ide in my p1 and it's started the clicking noise, So just before I say farewell is there a recommendation for drivers backup tool ? Save me the long haul of hunting them all out when I replace the HDD Thanks

BRILLIANT! thanks for the info! The GN + has no obvious ports to plug expansion. One thing I have noticed tho windows 98 has all the drivers on the cd!! I don't think that's ever happened to me before 😂

Wow this topic took off, In my original post I should have noted that the reason for doing this was I have a 128mb drive that I wanted to use just to boot 98se then once I had that out the way.. I wanted to use usb storage for programs/and games where possible. I did toy with 95 but the drivers …

Update I managed to do this eventually, the major setback was not having a cd ROM drive and having to edit the 98se iso to add 98lite. Then the other pain was the partitioning to clone to the 128mb. I achieved the partitioning with partition magic 4.0 in DOS, (sidenote gparted didn't like the 98 …

Update. I tried the /ID switch, unfortunately that didn't work. I'm now at the stage on 98lite which I have 4.7 I have the relevant cabs and notepad from 95 and wordpad.. and it's just freezing at patching wordpad.exe Perhaps there is a better version of 98lite? Edit.. Just trying the free version …
