Re: Blood 1 cutscenes in DOS

in DOS
D:\3DREALMS E:\3DREALMS If the random warez copy I found is any indicator, blood.ini references absolute paths, so when you fixed it did you change to new absolute paths, or tried using relative paths (might not work)? Tried reinstalling in DOS? Also as for the "low resource" thing seems like it's …

Re: Blood 1 cutscenes in DOS

in DOS
I also want to point out I don't get the same splash screens in dos that I get in windows. It's like it's playing a low resource version of the splash screen. Any help is appreciated. Are you sure you're running the same exe file? Yes, it is the same exe file. It's the same install, I just have …

Blood 1 cutscenes in DOS

in DOS
I recently got a copy of Blood 1 and was wondering if there is a way to get its cutscenes working in MS-DOS. They work fine in win 98, but I find that the game over all runs better when playing in DOS and non 640x480 resolutions work better as well. It's version 1.0 if that has anything to do with …

Re: Watching DVDs on Win98

in Windows
I just tried PowerDVD v4, it mostly works. I get some choppy frames here and there and can't really figure out what is causing it (probably a hardware limitation, I'm thinking either the sound card or the GPU). Here are my specs: P3-540 Mhz 640 Mb of ram Viper V770 (Nvidia TNT 2, 32MB of ram) ESS …

Watching DVDs on Win98

in Windows
Hi, I've been trying to setup a way to watch movies on my old win98 pc. I currently want to try using VLC 2.2.8 (newer versions wouldn't work, this one does if I run it with the default compatibility settings in KernelEx with the core update) Watching videos from file, or trying to listen to audio …

Re: ES1869 and DOS

in DOS
I finally got it to work! In order for dos games to play music, I had to completely disable the card in the bios, then I ran the ESSCFG. Now adlib works for every game when running in dos. The only difference I found was that the bios would not let me set my dma1 to 3, it kept defaulting to 0. This …

Re: ES1869 and DOS

in DOS
is esscfg supposed to keep running after it's run for the first time? It doesn't show up when I type in mem /c.

Re: ES1869 and DOS

in DOS
Bios settings and what dos says after running esscfg and essvol (or rather the go.bat file that came with the driver here on vogons) Edit: Noticed it's a little fuzzy, the audio line says IO:220h IRQ:7 DMA0:1 DMA1: 0 MPU401: 330h

Re: ES1869 and DOS

in DOS
What parameters do you set? I have tried esscfg multiple times and it has never worked. Maybe there is something I have to setup in bios?

Re: ES1869 and DOS

in DOS
ESS Audiodrive cards are usually hassle free with all DOS games, just use pure DOS and ESSSET and ESSVOL. If I am not using an AWE32 or a GUS, then it is usually ES1869(not ES1868) based card, I really like the added 3D effects, and you can adjust them from pure DOS. ESSET? I've seen esscfg and …

ES1869 and DOS

in DOS
Ok, I have been trying for days now to get an ES1869F audio drive, which has been integrated into the motherboard, working with DOS. When using the card through win 98se, it works fine. In dos, however, I cannot get it to play music for any game unless it plays it directly from a CD (with 2 …
