Re: Dual Nvidia GPUs in Windows XP

You could grab a pair of cheap GTX 570s or a 570 and 580 and try again, XP has full support for SLI with Fermi cards, once you have gotten results you could then just sell the cards if you dont need them. At the least it would answer the question. Nah, I'll stick with Kepler/Maxwell. I want …

Re: Dual Nvidia GPUs in Windows XP

I just wanted to see if I would get a performance boost in XP with a dedicated PhysX card. Before I upgraded from my 980 Ti to a 2070 on my main Windows 10 (now 11) PC, I used a GTX 1650 as a dedicated PhysX card and got a 20FPS boost (65 FPS to 85 FPS) in FluidMark with max settings at 1080p.

Re: Dual Nvidia GPUs in Windows XP

I replaced the 780 with a 980 Ti and the 750 Ti with a 960, and the same thing happened. It must have nothing to do with the architecture of the installed GPUs matching each other, but is probably caused by the lack of SLI (and all multi-GPU) support for Kepler and newer GPUs.

Dual Nvidia GPUs in Windows XP

I want my GTX 780 to be the primary GPU, and 750 Ti to be dedicated to PhysX. After installing my 750 Ti in my secondary PCI-e x16 slot, I was prompted to install the drivers for the 750 Ti and then prompted to reboot. After rebooting I get multple error messages when Windows loads, and Nvidia …

Re: Ti 4600 vs FX 5600 Ultra/5700

Btw, your FX 5500 also works with driver version 45.23 but you need to force the installation for the FX5200. I tried that, but it wasn't stable for me; every time I attempted to run dxdiag the computer would black screen and freeze. I'll keep my eye out for a 5600 Ultra, thanks for the info. Edit: …

Ti 4600 vs FX 5600 Ultra/5700

Assuming they're the same price, which is the better choice for a 2002/03 late era 98SE DX8.1/DOS machine? I'm currently running an FX 5500 on the 56.64 driver with a Duron 1800 and 512MB PC133 SDRAM. My motherboard (Azza KT3-AV) only supports AGP up to 4x (I chose ISA over AGP 8x), so a card …

Screensavers not working in 98SE

Every time I try to run a screensaver I get an error message that says: The program has performed an illegal operation and will be shut down. If the problem persists, contact the program vendor. [Insert screensaver name] caused an invalid page fault in module KERNEL32.DLL at 0187:bff7a125. Registers …
