I will not pay 80$+ a month for cell service. 25$ is about my limit lol. So along those lines I own about 2 - 3 phones a year. I like LG, but a couple provided less then a stellar experience. But the Stylo models haven't dissapointed me. I originally had a 1 or 2, and the only reason I gave it up …

Re: make the case for owning a vintage computer

Lately, and forever really I've been fascinated with the prospect of whipping up replacement fpga renditions of unobtainium ic's. It all started with an article I read in Circuit Cellar Ink, where the author readily produced a raplacement for a chip in his HP 41cv calculator. I believe we even had a …

This is not tne rrason I posted, but I've been contemplating selling off my ST gear. Too much stuff, too little money. There's always the emulator scene. Whereas I enjoy old crap still, I don't want to be.dominated by it. I really want to build a computer that's sort of a swiss army knife, based on …

Re: Members of Vogons, what shows do you currently watch?

Well I never watched the X-Files, but I did see the last 9 episodes, all but the final episode, of the Fringe. It was goofy, but at least a little funny. Please don't spoil the very ending. Many years ago we had Kolchak: the Night Stalker. As a pre pubescent moron I was quite taken with it. I really …

Personally I'd like to jettison both ST and SW as a fan. As examples of the space opera genre, I think both fall short. More so SW, with it's original pseudo mystical elements. So stupid. I don't hate ST. As I've said TNG and DS9 are pretty revolting. Voyager ran long enough that it delved into some …

Ok I am totally going to sound like a nerd and a tard. But STTNG is laughably stupid to me. The choice of actors, mostly. The scripts largely stolen from the original series. The pc bullcrap, like Ryker eating klingon worms to exemplify his commitment to diversity. O God please! Now I understand …

Ok but in essence you're using an Atari. You're running some game or other software. What's a pc? Does it have an 8088/8086? An 80286. .. 386 ... 486 ... pentium blah blah. Even if pc's pertained to this converdation, why? Does an old puter offer anything a new computer doesn't?

I watched the 1st 5 seasons of the Office.recently. I saw the 1st 2 seasons or mostly when it was current. There are hilarious parts, but I have to admit I felt disappointed, especially on account of it's reputation. Parks and Recreation, the funny episodes, is better imo. I only started watching it …

I'll takr a moment to mention that I saw Braveheart for the first time scant months ago. Imho it was a poc. This doesn't have anything to do with it, but I sometimes almost like Mel Gibson, the rest of the time I regard him as pond scum. The Patriot appeared to be a better movie, I've seen perhaps …
