Did you solve it? I seek a similar problem on Super Socket 7 (AMD K6-2+ 450 MHz) with Riva TNT2 Ultra. It works without driver in 640x480 - 16 colours. After installing driver, only a black screen. Switching to Geforce 2 GTS Pro, which is newer, fixes the problem.

That looks great. I just wanted some travel laptop for old games. I think it does not have a power to run Quake 2 on 640x480, only 320x240 :-D and no OpenGL. But the rest looks good. Windows 98 is very slow though. Perhaps need better CompactFlash adapter or this IDE controller is just ISA integrated with no DMA. Then I think only ISA SCSI can rescue this situation bottleneck.

I confirm MCM6265CJ15 for TAG solved my issue and now external cache is 128kb - fully recognized 20ns cache!
