Re: Worst fastest early 3D cards questions

I don't have the AT25 to test that should in fact be the 2D part of the aT3D chip but I'd not be suprised if it was the same rebranded chip with just a driver modification. But of course it might have been a different core at first or maybe later during late 1997 production. I randomly picked a …

JustJulião , I'm not 100% sure, but as far as I know the AT25 chip is cut-down version of AT3D and it lacks 3D functionalities. Looks like you are right theorically, but it seems that some aT25 chips are overmarked aT3Ds. Let's check it. …

Re: Worst fastest early 3D cards questions

at3D card with Terracide demo game with Direct3D (works great, great frame rate @ 640x480!) Wow I'm impressed. Which CPU? Can you post the driver? You'd just have to pack it in an archive if you don't have the links. You made me want to try this card ignoring that boring chips on the top. …

Re: PowerVR Fun Thread

I also only know of motordemo_soft.exe and motordemo_3dfx.exe demos and IIRC they're more barebones prerelease demos. The Motorhead I tested was a full version and that definitely has PowerSGL in there. It's an explicit choice apart from the Direct3D option offered. (No idea if technically-related …

Re: PowerVR Fun Thread

I don't manage to find the PowerVR version of the Motorhead demo. I suppose this is the D3D one. All the ones I came accross are either 3Dfx or software versions. Including on the Internet Archive. Does anyone have this version ? @leileilol, that's a bit late, but thanks for your reply. If it …

Re: Worst fastest early 3D cards questions

Still deciding which card should I buy first.. I've found all the usual bad ones, aT3D, Laguna3D, 3DImage9750, etc.. if they'd cost less I'd have bought them already but can't spend too much.. Question: late Laguna3D GD5465-HC-C revisions were slower or identical to the early faster ones with …

Re: Worst fastest early 3D cards questions

Impressive! I suppose one chip is a PCI to AGP bridge and the other the early i740. How much less did it perform? About 15% slower for the 12mb version (compared to the 8mb AGP). The AGP version is definitely more interesting. Paired with with a fast FSB and fast RAM, it was doing noticeably better …

Re: Worst fastest early 3D cards questions

Which was the better built and/or fastest board using the i740? The Real3D version has special drivers from them (they are the original creators of the chip), and can still use Intel drivers if needed. I remember that the Real3D driver CD is packed with nice goodies too, with even Windows themes. …

Re: Worst fastest early 3D cards questions

For what it's worth, i740 was a decent card. Very good rendering quality and speed, compared to all garbage that was released only one year prior. It also had pretty decent market penetration. Which was the better built and/or fastest board using the i740? The Real3D version has special drivers …

Re: Worst fastest early 3D cards questions

Hello, I was looking for info about the fastest and better built worst but also awesome video cards of the usual late PCI early AGP accelerators to test the highest factory clocked ones. Specifically I might look for something like the Alliance aT3D and the Cirrus Logic Laguna3D or the (not that …

Re: DreamBlaster X16 + X16GS Release

As someone asked but got no reply: does it fit physically an Audician32 card (height from ISA bus)? Yes, the pcb dimensions are : 53mm (height) x 77mm (width) It is mounted in 'landscape', the needed height in isa slot direction must be larger than 55mm : x16gs.jpg Thank you! And thank you for …
