The Windows 98 Setup is completely unattend if a MSBATCH.INF file is supplied, literally zero prompt requested from user from start to finish. Online there are guides on how create that file.

I don't like Snipe-it for only one reason, it showed me exactly how much I have spent for my retro collection. Otherwise it's good, obviously it's not targeted for our use case, it does more of what we need.

I use my Logitech MX Keys and MX Master 3 in 98 without issues. But I don't know if they are supported out-of-box or it is thanks to the NUSB package which I always install in any 98 box of mine.

I will look into every option, the Chaintech models with integrated sound card seem a good idea. I'm not interested in 100% DOS compatibility, I do have other dedicated systems for that.

I wanted a mATX because I already had only a mATX case available but yesterday just before closing time a PC arrived in my office to be scrapped... and it's a nice black full ATX case with an IDE DVD-ROM and floppy, both with black faces. Of course now that case is safe at my home!

I have to double check but I'm pretty sure that in the matx case that I'll use a baby AT motherboard won't fit because there is an HDD cage.

Slot-1 mATX motherboards with AGP are somewhat pricey. I can't find anything for less than 100€ which is way too much. Are there perhaps less know models which may go at lower prices? I'm fine even with OEM motherboards.

I noticed only now that the Matrox G400 works but it is at 1x while both card and motherboard should be agp 2x capable. In the bios there isn't any setting regarding AGP rate. Is there a way to understand why this happens?

I was offered two AMD K6. A K6-2+@550 and a K6-III+@400. Which one you would choose to pick up? The III+ even if it has lower freq? Does it have any overclock margin?
