Support for Bi-directional text

FreeDOS's KPDOS project states: kpdos.htm wrote: (13) FreeDOS does not handle bidi scripts natively. A proper bidi text editor is required. I've tried a certain bidi script in DOSBox and experienced the same problem. Can you make it official in DOSBox too whether it handles bidi scripts natively or …

How can one load keyboard.sys/keybrd2.sys/keybrd3.sys ?

in DOSBox General
Example: For the file UZ.KL (keyboard layout for Uzbekistan) specify "keyboardlayout=uz" in the DOSBox configuration file. The integration of keyboard layout packages (like keybrd2.sys) works similar. Alas, keyboardlayout=keybrd2 fails and keyboardlayout=keybrd2.sys gets DOSBox stuck. keyb.com …

you are using a bit different from most people :) I just run the defaults. How are the defaults not the default way? maybe read up on the -userconf parameter The manual neither defines "user's specific configuration file" (it originally misses a ') nor explains what happens without it. Also, it sometimes insists on putting mapper-0.74.map in %USERPROFILE%\Local Settings\Application Data\DOSBox\ - it did not happen in older versions with the same games. where is dosbox? %programfiles%\dosbox\ how do you start dosbox? %programfiles%\dosbox\dosbox. …

If it contains dosbox.conf (even a dummy one), then it saves changes …

Re: 0.74's keymapping

in DOSBox General
Ok, here's the trick. You must use a local dosbox.conf file - even a dummy (i.e. empty) one - in order to save the mapping locally. Having a dummy dosbox.conf around is a special requirement that wasn't needed in previous versions. But another problem is that once you do this and exit, using CTRL-F1 …

0.74's keymapping

in DOSBox General
v0.74 ignores old mapper.txt files. I've had to re-define my entire archive manually. The new files are called mapper-0.74.map which mean they too may not work in newer versions. Also, it sometimes insists on putting mapper-0.74.map in %USERPROFILE%\Local Settings\Application Data\DOSBox\ - it did …
