Yes its possible to use external port with even gotek. I think there are guides even in this thread. But those are last resort options, since my drive is actually working and reads 720k disks. Yes it only supports 720k disks... but usually one can use 1.44Mb disks by just covering the left side hole, so the disk is "720kb", works with amiga. Problem is disk's are slightly different and read write heads are different on drives, some work others doesn't. I think I have aligned amiga drive …

Thanks for the info. I also think that my philips monitor is limited to only MDA... At least I couldn't get it to sync to my Euro Pc monochrome signal... Of course the Euro Pc graphics chip could also be bad, since I don't own another 9pin monitor I can't test that theory.
