You could use more efficient power supplies… But I don’t know if it’s worth the money for the new supplies and modding the old hardware just to save some cents. I just disconnect everything after using so it doesn’t use standby power. And I use TFT displays instead of CRTs.

It worked just fine during the week, but after starting pc today, sound blaster does not show up in Wolf3D. Have you changed something in the BIOS? Like PNP settings? Not sure, but I think on that card FM synth is handled by an external chip (internet seems to think a DXP44Q). If that's right, then it might be worth pressing on that chip whilst running the Duke3D sound test, in case one of the solder joints has failed. A photo of the card might help. I have …

If your Multimeter has a beep mode (if you connect both probes to each other it will beep) use this. Beeping mode uses a symbol similar to a musical note or a "wifi signal". If you only have resistance (ohm) mode the reading schould be around 0.

The dots you are showing are "vias". These are interconnects between different layers of the board. These for example take the mentioned ground plane to another layer.

I recently got a Roland SK-50. The infamous Keyboard version of the SC-50. If its interesting i could record it on my Zoom H6 Audio recorder for (hopefully) good recordings.
