I was having a similar problem to this where it would crash my video card each time I tried to run at 3200+ but it wouldn't when I dropped the multiplier. I'm guessing caps too, but I hadn't had a chance to replace them all yet.

By default the Awe 64 driver puts a ton of reverb on midi but you can turn it off in the Creative Wavesynth/WG options, in the control tab. btw the Playstation version also has a ton of reverb on the cursor sound when you're in menus. So here’s how I do it: If you can get an MPU-104 you can have multiple inputs, and then an MPU-105 for multiple outputs to the boxes. Then I run the output back to the mixer with one unified output to the speakers.

I'm insanely jealous of your setup and retirement plan, but I use a flight case with a professional mixer mounted in it. I use a Roland M12-E with 12 inputs. I have my AWE64 on a separate channel and each MIDI box on a separate channel, with one output to the speakers.

Any interest in recording the sounds of a CM-32LN before I mod it? What kind of mod do you mean? There's a fix for the Vibrato issue being too fast for the CM-500 and CM-32LN that reprograms the control rom and replaces an oscillator. So it changes the sound to what's expected from the CM-32L.

Keeping the dream alive, shopping for a faster VLB card for my 486 rig. I also had a very generous person hook me up with a mouse systems mousepad that would work with a PCjr optical mouse. It works better than I expected and is so odd to think it was from 1984.
