Re: "Shader Model 2.0" games released in 2003

Thanks, very helpful. I also noticed in the system requirements for some 2003 games they needed a "DirectX 9 compatible" card. So they'll run fine on a GeForce 3 or 4, but I will get less advanced visual effects? gf3 and 4 are not DX9 compatible Apparently it's about the drivers. Check out the …

Re: "Shader Model 2.0" games released in 2003

Thanks, very helpful. I also noticed in the system requirements for some 2003 games they needed a "DirectX 9 compatible" card. Note that the DX listed in requirements is a terrible indicator of which D3D the game uses (DirectX and Direct3D are not the same thing), and even if you do figure out the …

Is the difference big enough to bother running them on a card with hardware DX9 support …

Different Windows eras

Re: Problems with running Windows Me

Using single 256MB stick is going to be helpful, Windows 9x installation with 512MB or more tends not to work. What are your SATA settings in BIOS ? SATA pots have to be set into IDE compatible mode, AHCI, RAID and "enhanced" will not work and cause problems. There's RLOEW's SATA driver but I have …

Re: Problems with running Windows Me

Hi, I'm afraid I'm not experienced enough to give a proper solution. However, there are a few ideas that come to mind. The setup seems to halt at some point when Windows 3.1 based part is still being used (Mini.Cab). Or, it's just after Windows 9x has been loaded and has continued running Windows …

Problems with running Windows Me

Hi. I couldn't get Windows Me to work properly on my computer, I'm not sure if my computer is too modern for this system or did I messed it up. The problems start right during the installation, for example, after entering the key, I get a blue screen: "Windows Protection Error. You need to restart …
