Re: steam games using dosbox

My bad, then I think I had an old version. I used them roughly a year ago and I had to use the default VU directories indeed. But I got it working the way I wanted and I'm happy for everybody else that your NSIS skills increased. Now, your patches are the most important download for everyone who …

Re: steam games using dosbox

I just copied the game directory of my Dosbox enables games from Steam to my own Dosbox directory with my own dosbox.conf and deleted the game from Steam afterwards. And I also used collector's patches on my Sierra compilation dvd's and afterwards copied everything to my own Dosbox too (as …

Re: Aspect ratio in fullscreen (widescreen)

t0mme: (...)You have crappy system, I don't, so get a new one. (...) Whoah, that was uncalled for. You have fun now, hope your superior machine can match mine in its ability to play Earth 2140 😉 *makes mental note about not trying to help mnm in the future

Re: Aspect ratio in fullscreen (widescreen)

Yes, Kippesoep is right. It can be done. Just don't use surface=opengl or openglnb. Those two settings crash DOSBox when trying to play Earth 2140 in fullscreen. That is by design. The scalers will, by default, only scale up if the source image is small (like 320x200 or 320x240). When you force …

Re: Aspect ratio in fullscreen (widescreen)

I tried the demo and I found out some curious stuff; 1. If I go to fullscreen before the starting the game, it crashes DOSBox. If I start the game with DOSBox windowed it runs great and I can Alt-Enter to fullscreen anyway. 2. With aspect=true and fullresolution=1440x900 the image doesn't get …

Re: DOSBox 0.73 Discussion

Nice improvements with Grand Prix 2! On my E2180 (2Ghz dualcore) I can now play it in SVGA with the detail in the mirrors disabled at an processor load between 50 and 80%, as measured by GP2 itself. Except on Monaco off course, where it runs into some serious slowdowns. On VGA, with full detail, it …

Re: Running Time Commando

You need a program like UltraISO to make a CD-image. This is in fact one file (or 2 in the case of a bin/cue image). In Dosbox you can then mount that image with the command imgmount like I showed a few posts earlier. In UltraISO it's very easy (in other programs probably too). You pop in your CD, …

Re: Running Time Commando

Make an image of the cd. I don't know any freeware programs that would do it, since I'm a happy user of UltraISO and don't feel the need for another program. Than, do as the wiki says: Z:>imgmount d "C:\MyISO.iso" -t iso or in the case of bin/cue Z:>imgmount d "C:\cdimg.cue" -t iso -fs iso The game …

Re: Running Time Commando

Well, I went out trying some commands: mount d E:\ <--Doesn't work mount d E:\ -t cdrom <--Works! mount d E:\ -t cdrom -label TIMECOMM <--Works! mount d E:\ -t cdrom -lable TIMECOMM <--Works! So the -label isn't needed apparently, but just to make sure; it is indeed -label and not -lable I might try …

Re: DOSBox and Frontends

I think a GUI, like the one found in ykhwong's builds, is the way to go. Newbies can have their go at the menu's, while the oldskool power-users can keep to their commands. Dosbox will probably always be a little bit daunting for the newbies as they have to learn a new OS and have to find an optimal …
