Re: YMF724 XP driver issues

in Marvin \ Sound
Just thought I'd ask to see if anyone's managet to get FM and XG MIDI working at the same time - in any OS. It would be nice! Both XG and FM synth work fine under Win98SE using the stock Yamaha 1040 drivers. You can find those on Phil's website . Specifically, you want this file: yamaha_dsxg_driver …

Re: Help installing ESS Solo 1 in XP

Check the device ID on that multimedia audio device. For the ESS Solo-1 it should be PCI\VEN_125D&DEV_1969 If it's different then it's not an ESS Solo-1 Thanks for this. I've not been able to check as I've now pulled the card. It's a Terratec card with Solo 1 chip - the Windows 98SE drivers within …

Just had another look following finding this post https://www.vogons.org/viewtopic.php?t=32738 I have enabled legacy mode, and unlike the poster there, successfully installed the new legacy device, but the FM synth still isn't available as a MIDI device. I'm kicking myself for trying to improve on …

YMF724 XP driver issues

Couldn't get my trusty ESS solo 1 working last night (https://www.vogons.org/viewtopic.php?f=62&t=94536&p=1168522#p1168522), but by a stroke of luck, an eBay purchase YMF-724 equipped card …

Help installing ESS Solo 1 in XP

in Marvin \ Sound
I've had this card working fine under Windows 98SE using various versions of the drivers. The package I'm currently attempting to install in XP SP3 (https://www.driverguide.com/driver/detail.php?driverid=114716) includes Windows98SE WDM drivers that worked fine for me on the same machine using the …

Re: Retro MIDI/Audio Music Making Machine

Assuming your using chipset drivers 3.20.1008? Doubt using the absolute latest is necessary but they are the easiest to find. https://www.philscomputerlab.com/uploads/3/7/2/3/37231621/3.20.1008.zip You could also try manually installing the fifo driver via device manager, The exe file is really a …

Re: Retro MIDI/Audio Music Making Machine

Can be many things, have you checked in the bios boths IDEs are enabled? Yep. Bios recognises everything fine. 2 hds on primary themselves actually work fine, as does optical drive on secondary. I just don't like having errors showing up in Device Manager! If you look closely below you'll see I've …
