Maybe you compile DOSBox with Debug Configuration. Make sure the solution configuration combobox in the toolbar is set to "Release".

Is it possible to statically link DLLs but still allow them to be overridden by external DLLs in the same directory? There're programs which allow this (like Thinstall).

Are you running dosbox with dynamic core? If so you should switch to normal or simple core. Monster Bash doesn't run very well with dynamic core.

I don't know about v9.0 but with v8.x you need a lot of RAM if you want to compile it with WPO enabled. I tried it with my 512MB notebook and after some time it canceled compilation with an out-of-memory error.

also about core_normal,i was thinking maybe transfering that big switch case into a jump lookup table might give me some speed?for example to lconvert all those cases into functions and look their address from a table.... do you think it give me any speeds? C/C++ compiler compile case expressions …

DOSBox tunnels IPX through TCP/IP. This means you just need a TCP/IP connection. Start DOSBox on the server and run IPXNET STARTSERVER. Then connect all DOSBox machines to that server by typing IPXNET CONNECT

That is exactly what I mentioned in my first post in this thread. I have certain programs/games that also produce RTE 200 on my PC (Halloween Harry, Duke3D installation program) but I never have this error when I run things in DOSBox. That's why I'm a bit confused why he gets this error...

Hm for me everything seems to work fine when I run it within DOSBox. It seems you try to run it without DOSBox. If I do so I also get the RTE 200. You have to download DB and then run dosbox.exe and there you type the mount command to mount the directory containing the CP installation exe.

The timesynch seems to work best with resource demanding games like BLOOD or Shadow Warrior. I only noticed problems with "non-demanding" games like Wolfenstein 3D. The problem is that the timesynch code increases the cylces until 9x% CPU usage is reached even if it is not necessary for the program/ …

As I said run the installer within DOSBox. Mount the dir with the installation exe in dosbox using the mount command and run it. You may also want to increase the cycles (CTRL-F12) to speed up the installation process.

BTW, Gulikoza, your timesync patch is awesome! I love having it balance cycles automatically for me Happy It causes serious problems with X-Wing CD though (both normal and dynamic core). The game runs slowmo although cycles say 20,000 or more. The cycles chosen by the timesynch code are too much. …

Did you try an older version of GPP? I'm not sure but I believe gcc/gpp 2.x is comes with the original DJGPP installation. Maybe this fixes your problem. I compiled the DOS version of Quake v1.09 some time ago with DJGPP 2 and it works in DOSBox.
