Re: 3dmark99 MegaThread

Hi, I tried all day to get this to run on my pc but no luck. It opens and runs when I reset NVControl Panel to defaults on NV Inspector but I only get a score of 0 (ZERO) on 3d Results. I only need to run the 2 3D test but always get 0 score. - Asus Z790 + 13900KS + 3080 (tried 3090 and 4090) same …

Re: What vintage CPU socket saw the biggest increase in CPU horsepower from release to retirement?

That said if I ever see a 2.12 rev again im going to snap it up, I missed the last one I saw on Evilbay. Of course, rev3 is best, but it's no problem if it's not there, because with modern drivers, it works fine even on modern DOS/Win98 machines. On P45 comes a little extra power, with Zen2 …

Re: What vintage CPU socket saw the biggest increase in CPU horsepower from release to retirement?

@Trashbytes Ive been after a Rev3.0 version of that exact board for a while now, one will eventually pop up on Evilbay ! I only have Rev2, but with E6600, good Win98/DOS machine. Re: What vintage CPU socket saw the biggest increase in CPU horsepower from release to retirement?

Best Win9x would be a 865/875 board or one of the Asrock 775 boards that got Win9x drivers or you can go older Intel 845/850 or one of the early Athlon XP boards KT133A to get full correct ISA implementation. Asrock is really very good, for example the 775i65G. It doesn't have ISA, but it has full …

Re: What vintage CPU socket saw the biggest increase in CPU horsepower from release to retirement?

i don't even consider the pentium 4 retro since it dropped isa and has sse2. i mean, can you even do intelligent mode midi in hardware without isa? i still have a northwood 2.8ghz system running my plex server. technically, it's an lga775 motherboard with a 478 socket, but it does just fine running …

Re: Retro Rig Photo Thread

I just finished a few updates to my Win98SE system, I keep around mainly for retro sim-racing Nice configuration! A little interesting thing related to this. I temporarily transferred Voodoo2SLI to RyZen, so it is partially OFF, but also ON because of V2. I installed Win98 on the B450 a while ago, …

Re: Retro Rig Photo Thread

And...can there be another stunt? I still have 40 retro machines and 1000 retro processors, if anyone is interested, I will link them gradually...if not, I will not flex anymore... A few old proci, they fit on the dining table, I didn't open them, so only a few pieces...😀 Filename 763.jpg File size …

That way I didn't have to edit them …

Re: Retro Rig Photo Thread

Link is broken. Wow, nice setup, beautiful cpus! Rise are a favourite of mine even if they perform like they do. Winchip all black is an eye candy 😀 Yes, that link is not being pulled in for some reason, I removed it for now. Thanks, it was a big test 😀
