I cannot think of a way that makes sense to pull its audio back over the bus and send it to another sound card. It doesn't work that way. The hardware allows a certain interface, and not a bit more. Some DSPs can expose full functionality to be used in software routing, I don't think Creative ones …

Btw. ARK2000 is the fastest period correct card. But when you compare price of S3 to it, it probably isn't worth it.

Literally nobody cared in latter 90s if their PCI card isn't running good on some niche "can't afford a Pentium" platform. Can I ask to compare performance limits on a very low end systems? :) NEC V20 @ 7.15 MHz, Orpheus 2 LT, "space_debris.mod" plays in 20kHz stereo SbPro2 mode, UI gets a bit unresponsive here and then, but no stutters ...
