Looks like you were SOL. *shrug* Maybe just a very random bug with Ultima Underworld... or perhaps a cosmic ray flipped a bit in your non-ECC memory. Oh well.

Would dualcore make any difference with DOSBOX? I'm guessing that while DOSBOX emulates various pieces of a old school PC, it is still single threaded... so it wouldn't make a difference. Am I on the right track here?
