Death Gate - Black Screen with GUS

Hi, I'm setting out to play through this Legend Classic and wanted to use the oppurtunity to try out GUS for the first time. First and foremost, the game runs completely fine using SB16. When I switch to GUS, the game starts fine aswell and sounds INCREDIBLY better. However, as soon as I try to skip …

Re: Phantasmagoria 2 Error 47 - Help Please

I tried with vdms too, that corrects the sound problem but still has shitty 16 colors, but also gives me the error. I also restored an earlier savegame and tried from there, but that also didn't work. I'm using Daemon Tools to mount the CD Images btw, it seems strange that it should be a CD issue. …

Phantasmagoria 2 Error 47 - Help Please

So I used the Win95 to Dos Patch for Phantasmagoria 2 to play in DosBox and I've almost completed the game. However, now the game will crash at a specific scene with Error 47. This is not corrected by the official patch, because that one only resolves Error 47 at ANOTHER Location. The Patchnotes/ …

Re: Win?

in DOSBox General
It means that you don't have Windows 95 installed. You could try to do that, but performance will be shitty. Use qemu or virtual box or sth.

DosBox + GCC 4.3

Sorry to make a own topic for this, as it's not a big deal, but here it goes: I was bored and so I went ahead and tried to compile DosBox with GCC 4.3. SDL + SDL_net compiled without problems, DosBox was smooth riding aswell except for 1 file. src/hardware/vga_tseng.cpp needs to have a #include or …

Re: PLEASE HELP.1st time using DOSBOX

No you can't just install DosBox and then install lsl7 for windows, that's not how it works. Lsl should come with a Dos-Version aswell, so you startup DosBox, mount your Harddrive and the CD-Drive and install and play from within DosBox. For details how to do that check DosBox documentation. However …

Re: Win 95 + browser

in Windows
Just use IE4, it's so old no one even remembers how to exploit it, or much more importantly, would try to do so...

Re: bugreport

in DOSBox General
Hmm, I don't have those many games to compare, but Terra Nova e.g. should run better with dos32a (I haven't tried that for a few versions though, so it may be broken now aswell with dos32a, but I'm not sure).

Re: bugreport

in DOSBox General
You have to use "Normal" core. It wont' crash then, but overall performance may be lower, depending on how good your system is, and how good tweaked Dosbox is otherwise. And if you read the bit about using dos32a instead of dos4gw - ignore that, that is only valid for older versions of Dosbox. …

Re: Star wars KOTOR problem

in Windows
Delete all remaining Kotor Files if present, go to regedit (start - run - regedit) and search for any entry of kotor (use full name, with and without spaces, publisher/producer name and so on, you'll find something most likely in hkey_local_machine/software and hkey_local_user/software Delete all …

Re: Last Express/Win '95 emulator?

in DOSBox General
I'm quite sure that Win XP fully supports The Last Express. As I recall, the only Issue was that the game would create a "crash message" when exiting it, but apart from that it should work like a charm. You may have to use compatability mode to install/play the game, but I'm really very sure it …

Re: Phantasmagoria on dosbox

I used a CVS between 0.65 and 0.70 I think and it would work just fine, aslong as you mount the virtual cd drive as a cd drive in dosbox so it would recognize the disk change. Playing directly from the cd is a bad idea imo, I've experienced massive loss of performance on any game I tried to play …

Re: Phantasmagoria on dosbox

Nah Phantasmagoria won't recognize the disks if you mount them in different drives. It's rather simply though to make it switch the disks in one drive: First you install Daemon Tools or some other Virtual CD Drive in Windows ánd mount the first disk. Then you mount that drive as CD-Drive in Dosbox. …
