Sound Choppy in Daggerfall

Got Daggerfall running according to the instructions on the forum. But digital sound effects and speech are extremely choppy. Any advice on how to fix this? I am using D-Fend. Thanks!

any programming geniuses out there willing to accept the challenge and develop a patch? personally I think it would be cool to have something like Exult for all the SSI games. kinda surprised there hasnt been any projects like that yet.

Unfortunately, I have an original copy unbundled. I guess this was a problem even when the game was release. I get static and cutouts. I cant believe SSI let something this big get past them.

Is there any way to tell it to read from the hard drive rather than from the cdrom? I have noticed that this has helped in the past with other games.

Any advice for getting the game to run smoothly under DosBox. I have ran the sound setup program but it still skips terribly. The cdrom is ok. no scratches. Or was the intro even messed up when the game came out? If anybody knows how to fix it please let me know. Ive never seen it before. Strange the rest of the game seems to work well.

Reinstalled. Worked. I have to advise everyone playing this game to back up their saves. Alot of weird problems seem to happen with "triggers". Cutscenes and important plot elements will suddenly not work and can only be fixed by a fresh install. Evidently the game forgets to write/delete certain …

In Ravenloft: Strahd's Possession after recieving Strahd's invitation I proceed to castle ravenloft and upon entering the dining hall the cutscene of the conversation will not start. This stops the game and keeps you from leaving the castle. Anyone encountered this? Edited by mirekluza: changing …

Yep. Ive tried about every option from SB16 to regular. I can get the game itself to run fine but the Intro makes horrible noises and cuts out.

Ok I got it working pretty good except for the Intro. The sound is completely messed up there. Any advice on getting the Intro to work properly. Right now the sound and the music is messed up. Im sooo close now. 😀

I did a search of the forum. Nothing specifically related to Dark Sun with regards to D-Fend. Nor is there anything that tells what file to update with DOS32A. It doesnt have seperate Dos4GW nor do most SSI games. Its always embedded somewhere else. For instance in Ravenloft it is Code.1 and Code.2. …

I got it working. It seems it does not like Soundblaster 16 I switched it to regular Soundblaster and no more crashes!!! Thanks guys for all of your help. Although I expect your advice about dos32A had alot to do with it as well! 😀 Thanks!!
