Yep program uses miles audio system, but i tried it here works fine in detecting the SB-16 and adlib or general midi for music. Afterwards the game plays fine too. So might just be a wrong install of vdmsound on his machine, i don't know.

Hmm wonder if that's possible since i remember my winme rewring config.sys back to some standard way. Never ever got ems working in winME, damn crap OS 🙁

Hmm nah isn't possible, dosbox doesn't have a rom image that it loads for the bios, it's all done with builtin functions.

Nah i'm not that old so i must be a god! Colors fixed well for monster bash anyway hurray 😀 Although it was a bug in vga emulation and not my bios implementation hehe. Ah well still more to learn from it.

Hmm just get the windows version of king's quest 6 and set your desktop to 256 colors and a lower resolution, works fine then.

Yeah although the windows version needs some patching for win2k and winxp. But then it RUNS, transport tycooning sweetness, although still have only been able to run it windowed, but hotkeys for resolution changes help with that 😀

hehe i'll give them a try too, bios imagine works fine now though, still some bugs left in my own bios i see, since some games seem to have correct colors now and text is being displayed. Ah well let's look at some disassembly and see how the shit works 😀

Well a pentium 75 still has a better vidcard than an original ibm vga card. Ah well bios image actually seems to start up already, some detection shit left to fix and i think it would run fine.

Yeah you can just save the vga bios by writing a 32kb block of memory at a certain address in a file.Would be at 0xC000:0000, so you can easily get it dumped.

Anyone here that has an original VGA card? The ones with 256kb memory and not SVGA stuff. I want to get the bios from one of those thingies and see if i can run it on dosbox and use it for reference in getting the bios support improved a bit. Or perhaps stiletto knows someone that has one.

This thing was out before as far as i know, i know i've seen it before anyway but thought development on it had stopped. But in a way it's a too perfect cpu emulator like bochs. Although this is done in assembly should be a lot faster then. If you really wanna make a perfectly accurate 386+ emulator …
