Re: RB3D works 99%

This is very interesting. I'd also like to know if it is a Windows based game or DOS. Are you sure you are using Glidos, and not just the Glide2x.dll file (which is the updated OpenGlide wrapper)? To be using just OpenGlide, you would have needed to copy Glide2x.dll from the Glidos folder into the …

Re: So... (Extreme Assault)

Okay, its not the messages causing problems. I expect v1.23 does a lot more with the frame buffer. That can kill Glidos. From what you were saying, you don't really need to go as far as v1.23; is that right? Note the thing about the resolution. Set it through Glidos, not in the game.

Re: Updating Glidos

There isn't a proper uninstaller. The best thing to do is make a safe copy of authority.txt from the Glidos folder. If you have made changes to glidos.ini, make a safe copy of that too. Then delete the Glidos folder, and reinstall with v1.18. Put the authority.txt file back in the new Glidos folder …

Re: So... (Extreme Assault)

Don't be so hard on Nicht. Glad it wasn't me that was looking at this. I wouldn't have thought to look for patches, because it was so typical of a Glidos problem. I would have spent a month trying to fix Glidos. Actually I bet some of the problems can be fixed by changing Glidos, but only in ways …

Re: GLIDOS & eVoodoo...

Not sure how much is possible yet, but I'd like to push it in that direction. Everything I've done so far to do with VESA, is specific to DOS/4GW programs (as is the rest of Glidos for obvious reasons), but it could be generalised. Don't know about DosBox. Is that the main purpose to clear up …

Re: Topic: TR1 on G-Force 2 problem cured, I think

Ah, I mean GeForce2 don't I. A lot of people on the Tomb Raider Chronicles forum complained of not being able to make Tomb Raider 1 work, with or without Glidos, on their GF2's. I think some nVidia drivers don't handle fullscreen DOS very well. Certainly there was one version I used with my GF3 that …

Re: GLIDOS & eVoodoo...

Yes evoodoo is really going places. About code swapping. I think I'm obliged to publish the changes I've made to OpenGlide. I've been meaning to make the latest OpenGlide source available somewhere, but noone has yet actually requested it. I wouldn't want to publish the source of the actual Glidos …

Topic: TR1 on G-Force 2 problem cured, I think

I've now changed Glidos http://www.glidos.net so that it takes over all the graphics of TR1, including the FMV sequences. This means that TR1 never has to enter fullscreen DOS mode, which as far as I know was the cause of the G-Force 2 problems. The changes only affect TR1 running under Windows NT, …

Re: other DOS Glide games

Thanks for info. As for slowness. Are you getting a lot of messages in all capitals in the Glidos server dialog? Also, have you tried setting ControlJudderFix: 1 in the Glidos.ini files (probably help if I documented some of this). Silly little things can slow Glidos down, so altering configurations …

Re: CD audio command routing

Okay, I've put some stuff in the files area. It will be very difficult without Vlad's help. For one thing you need to hook the DOS interrupt 2fh, which I don't think you can do within a VDD, so there'll be a need for DOS side program. Then there's the question of how to invoke that. It may be better …

Re: other DOS Glide games

I'm always interested in new games. As Stiletto mentiones, we are trying to keep a list here; if you have time to help update it that would be great. The "new" facility isn't locked; its unimplemented, simply because I haven't had time. Also, Glidos isn't based on OpenGlide. It is an interface …

Re: Spinning logo always there

The black screen is at the FMV stage and Glidos is not involved. It is likely to be an audio problem, although it is difficult to explain how you can have an audio problem if using VDMSound. It may be that the VDMSound hint dialog box is popping up behind another window. If so, you need to disable …

Re: CD audio command routing

This Redbook support that you are thinking might go into VDMSound, wouldn't necessarily have to map the DOS side Redbook commands to Windows CD playing commands. It could just as easily map them to WAV playing commands. In fact, trivially, because Windows gives WAV and CD a common API. So you *could …
