We shouldn't let the human skin threshold for heat influence our decisions in machine part world. I get the feeling all this heat is felt to be scary, but only because when people touch it it hurts. If the cooling isn't modified and if you touch it and don't have an instant blister it is fine.

You need to replace the cache with cache from a known working board before going further. This will rule things out. Maybe this kind of strange behaviour can result if only the tag piece is broken or something similar.

Weirdness. I always ran a SB Pro 2 + GUS MAX setup and never experienced Adlib port conflicts nor joystick port problems. One wonder why the ACE was made. Cheap alternative only?
