Describe exactly what you do in DOSBOX Those are *NOT* the CD contents (unless you got ripped off) Crusader was not created at 2005...

Thanks for the reply, I guess it would explain why none of my tricks worked 😉 I guess I can try to use fakecd or something through the booted DOS, but currently this is too much of a hassle for the one game I wanted to test...

Night of the Hermit is an AGS game, it should work with Win98 compatibility mode without the need for DosBox. Give it a try... Edit: Ok, downloaded the game, you need to rename Hermit.exe to ac2game.dat and then run ACWIN.EXE No compatibility mode needed for this and it works fine under WinXP. Good …

I must admit, I don't have an original of this game (where did you get yours from, do they ship internationally?), but when I tried installing I didn't get any errors. I figured it was because it was tampered with... but I guess it's just a copy from the original...

Please elaborate on how you made the image and how you tried to load it from within dosbox (include exactly what you type in dosbox and the locations of the CD image and its file name as well)

Yeah, your machine is a bit in the low end... Using WIn98, DosBox 0.65, 256MB of Ram and a P3 - 1GHZ the game is playable (though audio stutters occur). To improve performance, try core = dynamic, cycles = auto and make a CD image of the game and mount it. More instructions on my wiki if needed...

Hmmmm, could you be more specific about the problems with ykhwong's build? Various solutions to playing Ripper are on my site, perhaps they can help you get the game working with it.

Did you make a CD image of the game, or are you playing from a real CD-ROM drive? I would recommend making a CD image and to mount it with DOSBOXs IMGMOUNT. If this doesn't work, please post a save game of the file, and I'll try it on my copy of the game.
