Re: some more shaders for SVN r4319 and later

No luck with the garbling/smearing of CRT-Geom overscan, though. It's beyond my knowledge and ability. :-D That's due to sampling the input texture with negative X/Y co-ords, they get clamped to 0. The same effect would be happening on the right/bottom sides if there wasn't extra padding. Still, I …

Re: some more shaders for SVN r4319 and later

Another world intro and crt-geom and normal2x has a funny wobbling effect that's maybe a bad interaction between the shader and scaler. You can avoid it by setting none scaler when using a glshader. CRT-geom is designed for interlaced content (console video output), it looks "funny" because PC …

Re: some more shaders for SVN r4319 and later

@jmarsh: The "set" command works now, but nothing happens, the screen is unaffected. I am not able to increase or decrease the size of the screen by that value. @tyrells: I gave CRT-Geom a try and seems to work on low resolutions only. I've also noticed that its overscan settings produce visual …

Re: some more shaders for SVN r4319 and later

You have to reload the shader with the glshader command after each change. I did, but no dice. Unless I'm doing something wrong. To sum up, let's say I'm redifining overscan for "lottes.glsl". I should type > set GLSHADER_OVERSCAN = 1.0 > glshader lottes.glsl or should I type "set LOTTES_OVERSCAN = …

Re: some more shaders for SVN r4319 and later

Where is the error message coming from? The error message is displayed in the DOS prompt itself, it's the response to the "set GLSHADER_OVERSCAN 1.0" command. BTW, I'm using DosBox ECE 4334 (maybe something has changed in the yesterday build?). @tyrells: I'll test CRT-Geom, great! Unfortunately I'm …

Re: some more shaders for SVN r4319 and later

Of course Retroarch allows fiddling with overscan parameters, but getting that option in standalone Dosbox would be great. Any DOS environment variables starting with "GLSHADER_" get inserted into the shader source during compilation. So entering the following at the DOSBox command line: > set …

Re: some more shaders for SVN r4319 and later

The others require multiple passes, and I'm not sure if that is currently supported by DOSBox SVN... Thanks for your work Tyrells, lottes and pp are much appreciated. :-) As far as single pass shaders go, I'd suggest CRT-Geom: I've always liked that, because it's not particularly eye-straining and …

Re: DOSBox ECE (for Windows & Linux)

There's an audio bug in the last r4279 Windows Build. Popping digital sounds in Prince of Persia. I usually crank sound frequency up to 49716 to get the best results in OPL emulation, but I don't think this is the cause of the issue, because I've always done that and there was no problem at all …

Re: VIDEO Patch for pixel-perfect scaling (SDL1)

I've just tried out same games. I must say this patch is also a great way to understand if a game syncs with the refresh. Generally speaking, it seems to me that VGA Mode 13 "chained" games did not sync with the 70hz refresh: e.g., if you choose "glfullvsync=true" on a 60hz monitor, with Monkey …

Re: VIDEO Patch for pixel-perfect scaling (SDL1)

First of all, thanks again to Ant_222 and YesterPlay80 for their work. I know there are various games that use different refresh frequencies between menus and ingame screens. In my opinion a good game to test the effectiveness of Ant's patch should be Apogee's Crystal Caves . Yeah, this …

Re: DosBox-0.74-ES (SDL2)

New build posted (https://github.com/aqualung99/dosbox-0.74-ES/raw/master/dosbox-0.74-ES_Windows_010818.zip) with fullscreen aspect ratio correction. That scaling code all needs some work. I think the next immediate concern is to expose vsync on/off as a property in the .conf file. I've just …

Re: DosBox-0.74-ES (SDL2)

Been gone for a while -- just wanted to post an update about the performance problem with frameskip=0 in my build. I've posted a new build (https://github.com/aqualung99/dosbox-0.74-ES/blob/master/dosbox-0.74-ES_Windows_010718.zip) that, when combined with the latest nVidia drivers, appears to …
