Re: Dark Forces?

No one I know of. I recommend you view this thread: http://www.vogons.org/showthread.php?threadid=556 And check out here and here and here: http://www.df-21.net/ubb/Forum1/HTML/002066.html http://www.df-21.net/ubb/Forum1/HTML/001931.html http://www.df-21.net/articles/install.html The first person to …

Re: Help with vesa

It's not that GeForce has no VESA support. It's just spotty and/or shitty. :) If you were running this under DOS, I'd recommend you view this site. http://unirefresh.demonews.com/videoproblems/ I know it mentions using VBEPlus to get the game running. But VBEPlus shouldn't work in Windows 2000/XP, …

Re: Congrats to Fabio and the boys!

in Milliways
Of course we are! Search our forums for the word "emulator". Keep in mind, we are primarily PC-centric. But look how often we recommend using a Macintosh, Amiga, Playstation, or other emulator if you can't get the PC port of a game to work right. And what do you call DOSBox and VDMSound and …

Re: Prince of Persia II

Okay - I'll test some more with my floppy version then. PrivatePanic, you could always try emulating the Mac version! See here: showthread.php?s=&threadid=492 See this thread for more information: showthread.php?s=&threadid=588

Re: POD and USB ForceFeedback Controllers

in Windows
Very cool! Thanks! You're more than welcome to continue experimenting with POD patches to try and get it working in Windows XP as in this thread (and I'd appreciate that any progress be noted there). http://www.vogons.org/showthread.php?threadid=496 The main goal is to get POD working in Windows XP …

Re: Stiletto's GhettoPC (TM)

Wow. That IS ghetto. ;) Not as ghetto as my 486/66 DX-2, though. (I'm even getting an AWE32 ISA and an old CD-ROM from my main man Steve that works in IS at my school! And the power button spring has issues, so it's a pain in the arse to close the case.) Prolly my favorite component is this: …

Re: Legacy gaming!

VDMSound is awesome, but if you truly want to play these classic games, I recommend hitting Ebay, garage sales, or friends/family basements to find legacy hardware to play them on. It's really the only way to truly recapture the proper environment, let alone the feeling. The games were made for …

Re: System Shock and Memory

in DOS
Hm.... someone try running it in Win2000/XP, with VDMS, and Kuno's memory settings... Heh - just noticed that one of the System Shock Hack Project guys has a bug/feature request/support request in at VDMSound's Sourceforge site.

Re: blood on glidos

😀 Great posting that! It should be useful to Paul (but I still think it'll look like crap. 😀 ) I'd do the Blood test, but a. I have a Voodoo3, not an actual Voodoo or Voodoo2, and b. something's gone off with my Win98 installation, and I haven't figured it out yet. Still...

Re: GEX - Enter the Gecko

Another thing that would be nice is the return of the OpenGlide configuration utility (completely rewritten/redesigned), and a proper manual... 😀 Then you could easily have the utility switch between regular and debug mode just by changing the name of the DLL files, or something.

Re: Launchpad hanging up DOS games?

Yeah, I'm not sure NOLFB should be part of the package. There's so many variables involved in getting it working. I don't recommend it. (Yes, I did finally see the Win9x stuff in CVS! 😀 http://cvs.sourceforge.net/cgi-bin/viewcvs.cg … by=date#dirlist)
