It's not that GeForce has no VESA support. Another thing that would be nice is the return of the OpenGlide configuration utility (completely rewritten/redesigned), and a proper manual... 😀 Then you could easily have the utility switch between regular and debug mode just by changing the name of the DLL files, or something.
