Frys only had one 74S74, the others are 74LS74... Still had to order some off the internet. I'll try the 74LS74 and at least see if I can get a boot. May have to disable turbo or it may not work at all, but I'll try...

Ah thanks. The descriptions on mouser/digikey were subtly different, so i wasn't 100% positive. I'll pick up a few today at lunch and hopefully be playing Conquest of Camelot on this just after dinner.

🙁 Frys has a 74S74 in stock. I was thinking that should just be a faster version of ALS/LS, but it describes it in the datasheet as an "edge-triggered" flip-flop? Think that'll work?

Don't some cards with VGA/KVM mirror both interfaces by default? If so, maybe a generic VGA/VESA driver might work?

How important are the chip ID suffix identifiers? The xi8088 lists Mouser 595-SN74ALS20ANE4, 595-SN74ALS20AN, 595-CD74ACT20EE4, 595-CD74ACT20E; I have no idea what the NE4,AN, EE4,E stand for, and whether they're all essentially the same part compatibility-wise...

I've got everything but the common IC chips arriving tomorrow. Gonna get all the resistors/sockets/etc. soldered and sort out my IC parts list and try to figure out if I've got everything I need...

Good news, I didn't lose my 8087, it hadn't arrived yet. I'm curious whether my 8087-1 (10mhz) will be OK running alongside a 12mhz v20?

Can anyone confirm whether a 062398 SB 2.0 1350b will or will not support the CMS upgrade chip? I'm OK with losing the SB/Adlib functionality, I'm really curious whether the CMS functionality is still there.
