I know a couple games, one is somekind of startrek 'fleet' game and the other was I think battlezone. From the top of my head so I could be wrong. Both Starfleet Command and Battlezone work fine on Windows ME but SFC has major issues in WinXP. Battlezone works in XP but it's a bit unstable …

Better USB device and peripheral support for one thing, high-colored systray icons, faster booting times and the ability to install a more recent DirectX9.0c. That's all I can think of. NO Kyro works with only Direct3D and OpenGL, only the PCX1-2 and Neon250 (iirc) can do the SGL api, but they can't do OpenGL (as in the full ICD. There are SGL MiniGL drivers intended for use with id Tech 2 engine games only)

I never heard the Python reload noise other than the 'chamber rolls in' at the end in any version - old '98 retail up to the latest patch as well as the steam versions. Perhaps you're imagining the extra noises or probably played a mod that added more sound events to the model or something.

Pro is an extended version. You're thinking too highly of the original Ultim@te Race. It's less than Pro. And sadly yes it only works on older PowerVR cards. Unless you have a PowerVR card (in which you'll most likely have Ultimate Race which is bundled with every friggin' one of them) you can't run …

I imagine the aspect forcing on 16:9 would be really really bad with those ModeX 320x400/320x480/360x400/360x480 games.

4:3 aspect correction doesn't work with those 640x200 modes unfortunately, I tried it too 😒 some other screenmodes don't get corrected for 4:3 as well.

and 200mb is alot of space Not Really. A full install of XS requires 400 MB. A humongous install of Fallout requires 650 MB. That's more for futureproofing into Moore's Law if anything. Hard drives of the DOS era are usually around the 50MB-2GB range and a full install like that wasn't ever often …
