I remember some early demo versions of "Cakewalk" that was just a standalone DOS midi player, with a capability to play through OPL2/3 and also PC speaker. pSX uses a 24/32bit buffer. Voodoo Banshee won't ever do this in hardware. Also, pSX is an "accuracy" emulator. It is also quite CPU taxing, you'll need something of a AthlonXP 3000+ to play on it at a playable speed.

i'd use a geforce2 gts and some old drivers Pentium IIIs aren't Pentium IIs/K6-2's so it shouldn't struggle much with the 2001 crowd of games.

Try changing output mode to something that isn't surface, like try overlay (Rage II has good support for that). The card is too old for OpenGL though so forget about using those. This is an SDL issue

Creative sucks. Period. It has always sucked and it will always suck. I agree the company and it's practices suck. But it can make decent hardware from time to time. I still use my SB Live! card and I love it. It's been the most stable card under Linux that I've tested. i never got it to work with …
