Sounds like unnecessary dependencies. A fluid-lite version then? foo_midi for Foobar2000 has fluidsynth integrated (as well as munt and emu de midi) and it's only 356kb compressed

Some games used it for higher quality sound, like Eradicator I'd think Fluidsynth could be hooked into dosbox to handle the Awe32 - it almost sounds like it when you pair it with 1gmt.sf2, save for the emu8k weird echo reverb.

To prevent some tearing you could turn on double buffering. yhkwong's build has actual vertical sync iirc p.s. why not update Dosbox and D-fend while you're at it? You might as well up d-fend since that'll give you 0.74 anyway

I think some of the Sunstorm launching programs (for Duke it out in whatever) were pascal written which made you think of Duke3d being affected

Duke3D used Watcom C and isn't affected by that runtime error 200 crap. Pascal is definitely one of those though, OMF2097 is one game that'll do it

yeah it sucks when that happens, and then you see blatantly illegal scavenge GAMES based on their code, IP and assets (as well as from other games) like Duke Theft Auto and WGRealms2 getting away scratch free... not fair!!! PII 233-300 on 66MHz FSB. Pentium III 500 wouldn't make Armored Fist 2 or Extreme Assault much faster, besides to DOS that's just a Pentium II 400 at that point

try mounting it on the D: drive instead, cd-rom drives work best being the 'next letter'. A: is for floppies.
