The parity support doesn't depend on specific chip, normal DRAMs are used. As I see on your photo, your SIMM has two 16-bits DRAMs and one unpopulated 4-bit DRAM footprint so it would be enough to solder the 4-bit DRAM and you get 36-bit parity SIMM module. But maybe also ID pins should be changed. …

Aha, this makes sense... But what about other chip manufacturers like crystal and ess? Did they pay for licenses even are cheap clones? Or are also different enough but better quality?

Ok, but why they degraded the quality on newer cards? I would understand if they replaced 3rd party chip with theirs cheaper one but this OPL is already from Creative (at least by marking)...

Is your module wired to work also in 36-bit parity mode? Did you made there some size selection solder jumpers? Do you have a cheap source of high density 4-bit/16-bit DRAM FPM/EDO chips? I din't have any spare and I 'm a bit reluctant to solder them from old working SIMM modules.

I checked my old AWE32 CT3900 and I have found this 3 opamps: U26: MC3403 - fully utilized U27: MC3403 - fully utilized U31: TL074C - part 2 and 3 are floating! As the opamps are powered by symmetric +-5V I simply wired them as folowers with + input to GND.

I have older AWE32 CT3900 with CT1747 OPL chip and there's no left footprint for Yamaha. How is this CT1747 compared to your hatred CQM?

I found only mach64 ISA splitted 16k ROMs, no idea how far is it from mach32 but you may give a try... BTW sometimes HW designer swapped data/address lines order to optimize PCB routing and then you need also transform the data...

It contains a nice M68k ceramic CPU (not socketed but soldered), a lot of prog. logic from Lattice, some SRAMs, fast gates and other parts usable for some else projects. The ARC firmware used on older machines is functionally identical to AlphaBIOS, it just doesn't look as flash. .... If needed: The motherboard manual , SRM firmware and ARC firmware .
