@Pingaloka Buddy, I suggest you try the Yamaha. You said you already tested the SB16. Then decide which card will you use. Everybody has an opinion, the one that matters most is your own. If you like Yamaha, then use it. If you like more the SB16, then use it.

I can confirm that DOTT is speed sensitive. While it works on my mobile DOS box (IBM Thinkpad 600e, Pentium 2 366), it hangs on the system on my sig, Celeron 800. Disabling cache does not help.

It comes down to the specific soundcard. My 2 SB16 Vibra do not have an internal DB connector. And I have a Sonata S163 Yamaha OPL3-SAx card which has a suitable placed DB connector, so I did not need to build a cable. So far I have only 3 ISA cards with well placed connector. One is the Sonata, …

@Mau1wurf1977 I think the issue here is the choice between SB16 and Yamaha SAx. For all practical purposes, I prefer Yamaha.

SbPro compatibility. Although SB16 offers 44 KHz sampling in stereo, for games that support SB16, it only outputs mono if you select SB Pro in games setup. IMO, better have 22 KHz stereo Sb Pro than double the sampling rate yet have mono sound.

I suggest you install a Glide wrapper and run Diablo with it. It seems to work with Diablo 2. Try nGlide, I think is worth a try.

Diablo is a Windows game, of course it will not run in DOSBox.

Diablo and Diablo 2 have problems running in Windows 7. AFAIR, they are 256 color games, and Win7 does not support 8bit colour anymore. They seem to work fine with a Glide wrapper, though.

@powerPie5000 Well... My language is a very flexible one. "Dude" is english loanword. But "duda" has almost same meaning as penis. in archaic Romanian, duda means pipe. So, by changing a vowel, you get from "friend/mate" to "pipe/conduit/penis"

While PULA has several other meanings in other languages (a city in Croatia, the word for rain and national currency in Botswana) in Romanian is slang word for penis.

Another word which makes me laugh is Italian "finocchio". Its literal meaning is a plant/vegetable. Second meaning is gay, as in homosexual. How the hell did my Latin cousins arrived to that, I cannot explain.

Well, a Romanian joke (double entendre) is written like "Notre poul dans votre court". Is supposed to mean "Our chicken in your yard" in French. When said/pronounced correctly in French, it sounds like "Notre pul dans votre cur", which in Fromanian means "our penis in your anus"

DOTT works without problems on my P2 366 laptop, SB FX&music in DOS mode, GM in Win98SE.

Some motherboards (yes even old Pentium ones) will not start if the battery is discharged. I suggest you measure the CR2032's voltage. If is below 2 volts, try a new one. I remember having a ECS P5TX-Bpro 12 years ago, and it did NOT work if the battery was discharged.

I know nothing about 9000. Never tested one. But 9200 and 9250 are faster than a FX5200. After my 3DMark tests, I can say 9250 (which, ironically, is slower than 9200) is just a bit slower than FX5500; and FX5500 is just a higher clocked FX5200. IMO, go with the Radeon.
