Re: FSAA on Geforce 2 cards?

Couldn't you jst get yourself a cheap second-hand Geforce 3 ti500 ? Or is cost the 'thing' here ? I just sold my Asus GF3 Ti500 64Mb, for £45. And the normal GF3 cards go for around £40. Although I guess it depends on your part of the world. But with a GF3, you'll at least get useable FSAA at …

Re: Whiplash/Fatal Racing Voodoo1 ok, voodoo 2...no

in DOS
Craig, wasn't Whiplash/Fatal Racing a DOS game? So shouldn't you try in TRUE DOS first? Anyhow, ditch WinMe as FAST as you can. Win98SE is much better if you must use a Win9x-based OS. It was a DOS game, but that shouldn't make any odds, as I've totally unlocked DOS for WinME. And every other DOS …

No go here, Darn it. I really thought you had something there. Put my V2 in JUST to play this. Still a black screen, still a hard lock (session only). Perhaps this is a WinME thing, and only works in Win98. I'll have a little play.

Sorry, didn't mean to come across soo heavy like that. Bad day. But anyway, I would love this to work. Thats why I actually sent Paul the game, to see what he could do. I even put in my old Diamond Monster 2 12Mb V2, and it just wouldn't work. Just locked up the dos session with a black screen.

So you are calling ME a liar now ? A person who really WANTED this game to run, but despite everything from help to tweaks from websites, IT DIDN'T WORK !! Remember the Moody V2 Games FAQ. It stated that it didn't work, although it had a write up saying that some users spoke to a friend of a friend …

Re: Whiplash/Fatal Racing Voodoo1 ok, voodoo 2...no

The game doesn't run on even a REAL Voodoo2, so I doubt Glidos will have any chance. I tried it back when I brought it up with Paul, and had no success. I even remember the disappointment the first few days I got my Voodoo2. 17. Whiplash * n/a n/a C Taken from the old Voodoo2 Moody FAQ. n/a meaning …

Re: Redbook Audio

Ok, this worked for a friend of mine who just an Audigy2 without any kind of DOS drivers. This was using Glidos, and VDMSound for both WinME and WinXP. One thing to note, in WinME, don't auto detect the card settings. Try and find out what VDM is using then manually enter them. i.e. Irq 5, DMA 1, …

Re: This @#$% &^#@ Registration Scheme

Paul, you must have Elephant skin, mate ;) Look how he stayed soo calm throughout that ordeal. What a nice chap. ;) :) BTW, mate. I now have my nice shiny new NForce2 based Athlon Barton 2.8, up and running. Any chance of a new key ? Oh lastly, I got a nice Glide game called Dethkartz. Not quite …

Re: PIT Perfect

Yep, I'm with you guys on the noise level. I'm actually going to a local computer fair tommorow to find out, and possibly get, some silent cooling methods. At this show, they actually have some Zalman reps there, demoing and selling their latest cooling solutions for the PC. I'm looking at one of …

Re: PIT Perfect

As far as I'm aware, the Geforce FX is a completely different beast altogether. Hugely programmable, and extremely different architechture from previous tech. Hence, a lot of today's games run about on par with a 9700 Pro. But a lot of people are banging on about AA + AF, a feature that not everyone …

Re: PIT Perfect

The 9800 looks good. But also looks too expensive. But NVidia will have the NV35 out in a few months, so I'm looking forward to what that will have to offer. I just like NVidia cards, and more importantly, their drivers.

Re: PIT Perfect

Be appreciated. Damn it, will have to wait until Sunday I'm afraid. I've changed soo much hardware lately it's brought back all the spinning logos. But on Sunday, I'm going for the biggy and moving to Nforce2 with the Epox 8rda+, Athlon Barton, DDR 400, 200Mb Western Digital HD, and maybe a Radeon …

Re: PIT Perfect

Oh yeh: sorry Craig, the new method doesn't work for Screamer 2. It makes the controls go all funny. Darn it. It's a conspiracy I tells you, a conspiracy. 😁 😉 One day, I'll get to play my Screamer games in all their glory 😀 I'll give this version a go, and see what it's like.

Re: XOXO, Snover is the Greatest...

I'm with Colin on this one. In the UK, it's still on sale. Albeit, the whole TR package + addons like UB, for £9.99 on a budget label. Although I've seen it for £5 at various Computer Fairs that populate the UK. Thats where I bought mine, last year.

Re: Will Glidos break existing Voodoo2 drivers?

Speaking of CD, where's mine? I sent you one, Colin. I checked the date, and it was back in late January. I wondered why you hadn't said anything about it, I thought perhaps you couldn't read it. Perhaps it didn't get past US customs ? I'll burn you another one, and use a different postal service. …
