Couldn't you jst get yourself a cheap second-hand Geforce 3 ti500 ? Or is cost the 'thing' here ? I just sold my Asus GF3 Ti500 64Mb, for £45. And the normal GF3 cards go for around £40. Although I guess it depends on your part of the world. But with a GF3, you'll at least get useable FSAA at …

Craig, wasn't Whiplash/Fatal Racing a DOS game? So shouldn't you try in TRUE DOS first? Anyhow, ditch WinMe as FAST as you can. Win98SE is much better if you must use a Win9x-based OS. No go here, Darn it. I really thought you had something there. Put my V2 in JUST to play this. Still a black screen, still a hard lock (session only). Perhaps this is a WinME thing, and only works in Win98. I'll have a little play.

Sorry, didn't mean to come across soo heavy like that. Bad day. But anyway, I would love this to work. Thats why I actually sent Paul the game, to see what he could do. I even put in my old Diamond Monster 2 12Mb V2, and it just wouldn't work. Just locked up the dos session with a black screen.

The game doesn't run on even a REAL Voodoo2, so I doubt Glidos will have any chance. I tried it back when I brought it up with Paul, and had no success. Ok, this worked for a friend of mine who just an Audigy2 without any kind of DOS drivers. This was using Glidos, and VDMSound for both WinME and WinXP. One thing to note, in WinME, don't auto detect the card settings. Try and find out what VDM is using then manually enter them. i.e. Irq 5, DMA 1, …

As far as I'm aware, the Geforce FX is a completely different beast altogether. Hugely programmable, and extremely different architechture from previous tech. Hence, a lot of today's games run about on par with a 9700 Pro. But a lot of people are banging on about AA + AF, a feature that not everyone …

The 9800 looks good. But also looks too expensive. But NVidia will have the NV35 out in a few months, so I'm looking forward to what that will have to offer. I just like NVidia cards, and more importantly, their drivers.

I'm with Colin on this one. In the UK, it's still on sale. Albeit, the whole TR package + addons like UB, for £9.99 on a budget label. Although I've seen it for £5 at various Computer Fairs that populate the UK. Thats where I bought mine, last year.
