I think you might mean aweutil I use this syntax - aweutil /S in order to get the awe effects working, but this doesn't get soundblaster or adlib music working.

Jedi Knight & Heretic II work OK with V2 SLI @ 1024x768. But Redguard only runs if SLI is disabled, and Hexen II only goes up to 800x600 res, and no further. Am I doing something wrong, or does this sound familiar to some of you guys? Thanks, regards, Robert.

I believe it is an IDE Controller. It says IDE Interface on the AWE32 card, next to the pins for it. Also, inside Win9x Device Manager, I think it said "Creative Labs IDE Controller"

AWE32 CT3990 PnP card seems to consume two IRQs, one for the sound and one for the IDE controller. There appears to be no jumpers on this card to disable the IDE controller. Is there any way I can disable this IDE controller, so that my BIOS can use the spare IRQ? Thanks, regards, Robert.

Thanks for the DMA setting of 3 or 5, along with IRQ 7 suggestion. Please let me try this asap - but *right ATM* I have removed the PAS16 card to test out another sound card (awe32 ct3990) which I am also having problems with!!

Installed this card in to a P3-based mobo. When it plays sound effects, the effects sound *much* faster than they ought to be. Like 10 times faster than they should sound.

PS: which CT model does not have this bug, are the CT3900 or CT3980 better models to go for? Is the CT2760 good too? Or perhaps another way to avoid this bug is to choose a different sound card for the sfx? Thanks.

I have retested Hexen warp 2 inside Windows 98 with General Midi and sfx, this time with "Allow MPU401 Emulation on this device" unchecked inside Awe Control Panel, and I now (unfortunately) hear the hanging note.
