Yea the late Athlon boards sucked down the 5v line like nobody's business. A LOT of boards even required the aux power connector! Are you sure its running at 117? If memory serves me the k5-166 ran at 133. It should be worth looking into imho. Other than that, its a very pretty setup! Very clean! What are you going to do with it?

in my dealings with hard drives, it turns out that NT 3.51 has trouble with hard drives over 1gb. Also, you CANNOT install 4.0 on a hard drive bigger than 8gb.

I think having a 386 or early 486 will let you play anything up until thing started coming out on cd. then you want a pentium and I think having a nice P2 setup will then keep you clear.

if you play a lot of simcity then a co-processor is helpful. by a lot actually. I think some flight-sims also make heavy use of it but past that.

Well I don't have a stand-alone scsi card apart from the one i'm putting into my 386 so I decided to test the drives on my dual slot-1 that I saved from oblivion a little while back. Apparently, in my case at least, the difference between scsi and ide isn't that great. The first picture is using a plain WD 6gb hard drive on a nice ide controller.
