In my machine I noticed that sometimes it won't start. I help the front fan to spin and it seems to work every time that way... Could it be that it has some logic to check fans at startup?

Chances are that those pieces are made from ABS plastic, or a mix containing ABS. Use something suitable for ABS plastic. Other options would be using acetone carefully to melt the edges or creating your own glue melting ABS discarded pieces with acetone.
