If you want to use wrapper - try nGlide 0.98. It now has the support of glide 2.1.1, it is newer and it is active. Indeed, but nGlide requires a DirectX 9.0 compatible graphics card, and Hudson187 built his current retro rig with a GF4MX and 2x V2 SLI. I think dgVoodoo is better suited for pre-DX9 …

It doesn't matter at all what Voodoo2 drivers you are using, if you install Voodoo1 drivers in game folder. Please don't do that, it just won't work. The BAT file trick (SSTV2_SLIDETECT=0, SSTV2_TMU_MEMSIZE=2, and so on) should be enough. By the way, FastVoodoo2 4.6 driver already has the Athlon- …

Unless you find a Metabyte Wicked 3D and the custom drivers that go with it. You can get a non-standard resolution of 1024 x 672 with one and 1024 x 1024 in Sli. I don't know if the drivers can be used with other V2 cards, or if they can be modded but it would be worth a try for anyone familiar …

Know that the CT2890 has a full size OPL3, and the CT2940 has solder spots for both a Creative CQM Chip and a small size OPL3-L. The OPL3-L has a different shape compared to a normal OPL3. So this is not gonna work unless you find an OPL3-L with DAC. Thank you for the info, I don't have the cards …

@gerwin, @Everyone: I do have a non working CT2890 with a real Yamaha OPL-3 on it, and a working CT2940 with an unknown FM chip. Do you think that desoldering the OPL-3 chip and resoldering it on the CT2940 would be worthwile?

Adding a Voodoo2 is always a nice thing to do, but you must know that it is not a more powerful card than your Rage 128. It's just more compatible (that alone will help a lot with old games). And no, they won't work together. Only Voodoo2 SLI, Nvidia SLI and ATI crossfire allow two cards to work …

Actual Voodoo2 drivers take up less than 5 MB. Most of the disk space is taken up by a DirectX 5 release that comes with 16 different folders supposedly intended for internationalization support, but there's nothing else than the same files repeated over and over on every language folder. Easy to …
