DosBox Windows resource file (winres.rc)

Hello, I noticed the internal program information for DosBox in Windows is included in the source, but it's never used in the compiled .exe, it's missing a simple line: #include , it should be: [...] #include // version resource VS_VERSION_INFO VERSIONINFO FILEVERSION 0,74,0,0 PRODUCTVERSION 0,74 …

Re: To slow

Well it may be a dell but its totally clean, my main PC is down after the video card died, Texas Summer, no AC and GTX470 do not mix lmao. Playing Starcraft 2 you are? :P The computer isnt a POS, it serves a valid need and works fine for everything except dosbox DosBox is a valid and basic need :P …

Re: To slow

Welcome to 1999! Your processor is too slow and your soundcard is a POS. Get a faster computer and a halfway decent soundcard. If you can't do that then setup a DOS/2000 dual-boot and play your DOS games in MS-DOS. Wanted to avoid that part heh... No drivers for Soundmax for DOS, that I could find, …

Re: To slow

Frameskipping? Could work...other than that, I'm out of ideas, sorry; maybe someone else can help. Oh and set core to dynamic, if it's not already (or set to auto...) From the DosBox manual: CPU Core (speed up) On x86 architectures you can try to force the usage of a dynamically recompiling core ( …

Re: Does the mount cmd work with multiple dirs

As to why not make mount and imgmount as similar as possible, I don't know, ask the developers...or...better yet, write your own patch :D As for not using physical CDs well... This wasn't all that clear for me in that respect: To change a "cd" drive. Before you yell at me to use imgmount, the reason …

Re: To slow

Have you tried changing your output? http://www.dosbox.com/wiki/Dosbox.conf#.5Bsdl.5D That might help you...Also...turn fulldouble off. Other than that, how cluttered is your ram? 256mb is not a lot. Stable, official, DosBox 0.74 I just opened uses up 61,564 mb ram and I'm not doing anything yet, I …

Re: Does the mount cmd work with multiple dirs

Yes it does, as long as you mount the same drive and just change the physical CDs in your tray or similar loader thingie, I just tested it mount x x:\ -t cdrom I changed the CD and pressed ctrl-f4 and lo...it does change The problem might be that the game you're trying to play (unlisted, BTW) is …

Re: TekWar Problems

What DosFreak said :P, was typing when he replied, also, do type or paste your mounts. Ok, you get a graphical installer, you choose a language, click on install and just click "Ok", it installs, really quickly, as it writes just 2 small files, and you're all set to go..are you changing the …

Re: Magic Carpet 2 -Sound Problems-

Check if the IRQs you selected in Magic Carpet's setup match the ones you configured in DosBox, use DosBox 0.74, I *think* DosBox sets by default IRQ 7 for Sound Blaster and I *believe* by the time Magic Carpet was released, most games defaulted to IRQ 5. So...there, I hope that helps

Re: TekWar Problems

Glad Tekwar worked... For Shadow of the Comet the same reasoning applies... You'll need both a hard drive mount and a CD mount, I do have that game and I just tested it (Dosbox 0.74), it needs to create an INFOGRAM folder with a shadow.cd subfolder in the harddrive so...you'll need, again, both …

Re: TekWar Problems

Read here: http://www.dosbox.com/wiki/Basic_Setup_and_Installation_of_DosBox Keep in mind that you'll need BOTH a HDD mount and a CD mount... How to run the game .exe? Well if it installs to the harddrive, after you do BOTH mounts, go to the hard drive (e.g: c:) change to the path where you …

Re: Getting System Shock to work.

I created a folder called "sshock" in the "OLDGAMES" folder, and I have everything that needs to be mounted, mounted. Can anyone offer any advice as to what I need to do to install the game? I will appreciate any help given. Just to be certain...mind pasting your mounts? Sounds like it's …

Re: Redguard 3dfx Guilkoza build config file

Your rig could be overheating (the XP one), you might have faulty memory; faulty video card; some driver that isn't playing nice; faulty cable; faulty HDD; some crapware that doesn't like DirectX (or "direct" video access), BSODS are another matter entirely then, if they happen with most or every …
