Re: Universal Binary for OS X?

Well, the keyboard is really a minor thing. The performance is more important, imo. Has anyone else with a Macbook out there tested this yet? I don't know how these Core Duos work yet, but it seems that though the activity monitor reports DosBox as taking 70% CPU resources, only about 50% of each …

Re: Universal Binary for OS X?

Ok, a bit further testing... No matter what I do, regardless of core type and number of CPU cycles, I cannot get the OS X version of 0.65 to stop sound stuttering (the best I could do was to get 0.5 seconds of silence every 2 seconds). Also, the 0.65 OS X version crashes using dynamic core on the …

Re: Universal Binary for OS X?

Yup, it was just posted to MaUpdate as well: http://www.macupdate.com/download.php/14973/DOSBox.Universal-0.65.dmg This isn't official, though, is it? The application icon doesn't match the PC one and it apparently can read its preferences from the Library instead of a standard .config file like the …

Re: Universal Binary for OS X?

Hmm, I wonder if everyone just ignored the quote I pasted? Let me try again: A universal dosbox port with a working dynarec core. My patches for the dynarec core can be found at the official dosbox's sourceforge website. Said by Lamer0 of http://www.lamer0.com/ as was linked above by Edgar (and I've …

Re: Universal Binary for OS X?

I just checked lamer0's site, and it says (in quite old news): A universal dosbox port with a working dynarec core. My patches for the dynarec core can be found at the official dosbox's sourceforge website. So why wasn't 0.65 released as a universal binary?

Re: DOSBox Icon

I was also taken back that you chose a pixel based icon. With an SVG based icon, you could use the same icon across all operating systems, and there would be no problem with a "1024x1024" or a "10,000x10,000" sized icon. Still there would be a need to do a pixel work on low-res icons like 16x16 or …

Re: DOSBox Icon

Xara Xtreme looks haaaard. Quite the opposite, imo. Xara is one of the most intuitive and easiest application I have encountered. Working in it is several orders of magnitude faster than Illustrator (for me). eobet: That's some lovely work with the old-timey monitor. Is that vector based? My only …

Re: DOSBox Icon

It just has: http://www.xaraxtreme.org/ Also, there's a small "3rd party" collaboration between Xara and InkScape as well... but this is OT now (visit the TalkGraphics forum for more info). ;) EDIT: Back on topic... some variations on the OS X theme. Although, if this icon is chosen, I will redraw …

Re: DOSBox Icon

It's all done in an Illustrator like application called Xara X, including the monitor, so it's all object based and all fully scalable to any resolution (and thus, Linux and SVG compatible). Xara X is availible as a free trial and I do recommend trying it out. It's a lot easier and quicker than …

Re: DOSBox Icon

Well, if there's still competition I guess I can update mine as well. Again, it's inspired by the original MS DOS logotype, but with some classic Super Nintendo gamepad colors added (though DOS is "boring", DosBox is for gaming, right?)... childish, as I said, but hopefully inviting. I also included …

Universal Binary for OS X?

I did a quick search and it seems that nobody has mentioned this? Is it being worked on? I guess (in two weeks time when my Macbook arrives) the fastest solution for me would be to download a compiler for OS X and the DosBox source and create a universal binary myself?
