VGA cards (and monitors) were very expensive in 1988. Games didn't support VGA because only a few people had the equipment to run it, and it was much more expensive to develop a VGA game instead of a EGA+CGA+Tandy game. You're right. Gauntlet programers won't know their game won't work with VGA …

Thank guys But it's still an odd decision to make an only EGA game since IBM released MCGA/VGA in 1987. Gauntlet for PC was released in 1988. Into the eagle's nest and blockbuster can run fine in EGA on 486sx. Why not Gauntlet?

Hi In Basic Tandy 1000, I have problems with screen 3 and screen 5. 1- Any basic commands are ignored. 2- Some images are not filled correctly if using PAINT command.

Those CGA more-color screenshots are awesome for CGA graphics. If somebody can find the right cycles, the game might work in dosbox. Edited: I just found the right cycles: cycles=400 Dosbox's awesome. It can do anything with dos games.

Why few games like California games are different from other dos games? California games needs 512k to run and needs loadfix to run. http://www.mobygames.com/game/california-games/techinfo Without loadfix, CG detects 313k, not 640k in dosbox. Eye of the beholder needs 640k and doesn't need loadfix. …

The screenshot you posted looks like one of the CGA palettes. BTW: Ken Silverman PNGout reduced your PNG filesize about a 66%. I just tried it. It's the same than tandy mode. For some reason, dosbox 0.61 works fine in tandy mode. PCjr was not supported yet. the screenshot came from this version.

I just found the problem. Because you play SW in higher resolution, it needs more memory. In config file, change memsize=16 to memsize=32 Shadow Warrior works fine this way.
