What surprises me more is not that people are asking $200 for a 486, but that theres actually a few people who are, in multiple occasions, paying that for a 486. Lol, if this continues, in a couple years I'd better get my attic insured!

EOD or not, they are SDRAM... where did you get confused ? EDO is not SDRAM actually, it's a different type of memory. (EDO is asynchronous memory as opposed to SDRAM, which is synchronous) Perhaps instead of SDRAM you ment DIMM, as opposed to SIMM? If you try to boot with 1 EDO DIMM and 1 SDRAM …

Are you sure the memory modules aren't EDO DIMM's? The memory chips look kinda 'fat' compared to the old fashioned 32meg SDRAM DIMM's I'm used to seeing. Btw, were those VIA MVP3 chipsets realy that bad? I don't have a (working) board with that chipset so can't tell from my own experience. Edit:I …
