Is it better than an Ensoniq Audio PCI or SB Live!? Don't think so. The Ensoniq based SB128 was a very good card, from every perspective. SB Live?...that's an another story... Have to check in the future...

Anyone have one or at least used one? Yep, I have...but I borrowed it for sound card tests, not mine 😉 Not tested yet though, but I assume that it will sound exactly same as the other AWE cards. SNR and other quality parameters will be much better hopefully.

So how do I make the SC55 work with a GUS? As far as I know, the GUS cards were never MPU401 compatible, so you can't use SC55 + GUS combo to games from DOS. I was shocked when I realized this, because this is a very basic feature... You can play midi only from Win3.11, using DOS.

Any of you guys have driver for this card to DOS? I was unable to find any... Without driver, the midi section works, and games with native RAP-10 support, finds the card at 330H, DMA5. As I've seen some screenshots from win9x, where the card is listed as SB compatible card, so with driver I assume, …

I never said that...I'm just curios that this flag doesn't effect anything else. The man pages said that in case of serverino (which is the default, as it seems) flag, the server handles the inodes, in case of noserverino the client makes a temporary layer...or similar...which hopefully doesn't lead …

Same problem here. I want to store every of my files used by dosbox on my nas. It's being mounted to /mnt/nas, and everything else van access it, except dosbox. I've also tried the "\\computer\share" access method, without any success. Also tried with + \subdirectory. Is there any workaround to it? …

Are you sure that you are using IRQ 2 and port 330h on the Roland MPU-IPC-T? Some games require those and won't work with any other settings. Yep. But this has nothing to do with fixed 300h or 330h port games. Sierra has an another patch for change this

I simply can't find this thread, but I guess the fact that you need a patch for Sierra games to use your MT-32 through a joystick midi interface would be enough proof? I wasn't searching for proof, instead of some kind of list with these games not working, or not properly other then a pure Roland …

Main drawback: Doesn't support the "intelligent mode", so some games won't work (though many will) I've never met such games. I wonder, if there is a list with games, not working correctly with mt-32 using non roland midi out..

t what point do soundcards start having built-in mpu401? Does an sb2 have one? An sbpro2? An sb16 does presumably as it accepts daughterboards. The first cards at the Creative Labs which included a MPU-401 interface, the SB16 series. Under what circumstances would I need a roland external mpu401 …

Unfortunately that's the only card scsi card here. This would be a perfect card, if i could get from somewhere. Pretty awesome (and useless), that a 8086 can handle 8mb memory by this chipset.
