OK. I have tested several games now. Everything seems to be working just fine. I'm gonna change the address to 240h, to see if it works this way too. EDIT: Nope the CMSDRV driver for game blaster does not like the 240h address

The best i could get out of this, was garbled noise from CMS. If i have a GAL installed Sound Blaster and AdLib will be dead. I still need some answers about how to properly program these chips though.

Here i left everything default, and after it a menu named FUSE MAP appears. I suspect this FUSE MAP thing should have the binary which corresponds to the …

You'll be fine either with Intel or AMD. But it is not about the wrath or being a fanboy, it is about the misinformation and misconceptions. I think if you choose Intel you should wait for Haswell, it is out on June 2nd, and from what i could understand looking at the architecture it is not a big …

The FX-series has a deeper caveat than that, whilst the FX-8350 has 8 integer units, it only has 4 FPUs!... Mind you, said FPUs are 128-bit and AMD plays tricks on the scheduler to make it work out. Really, that is also why the L2 caches are shared as well. The FPU being shared between the 2 …

The FX-8350 has 2 MB per physical core, shared between two logical cores. I imagine that sharing can be a big hiccup in the performance sometimes. The FX 8350 has 2MB per module. Each of the four modules is a dual core that shares certain resources, L2 cache being one of them. I can't stress this …
