Re: Legacy , the realm of terror

in DOS
This I can't help you with since I don't have the game. Unless it's complaining about not having enough EMS. Hmmm, if the game has a configuration program try disabling sound effects and any other options.

You need your mem to look something like this, ignore the memory values. They aren't really important (they depend on how much system memory you have and how you have your _default.pif configured) what you need to worry about is wether when you type in MEM you see the EMS line: Example: 4194304 …

Re: DOSBox vs DOSEmu

Odd, plays fine on my Athlon XP 2800 at 320X2000 at 53000 cycles. Fully playable. At 640x480 it's a little choppy but probably bearable if you just had to play it at a higher res.

Probably not fast enough for hardcore playing with tons of ships and you may need to turn down …

Re: Athlon XP 1800+ or Sempron 2800?

My XP 2800 is 167.05X13.5=2215.12. Have had it since Sept 2002. Very good investment. Always thought about buying a newer processor but there's really not much point. The XP 2800 is still very powerful and enough to run even the latest games, unless of course your an FPS nut who requires the highest …

You could try solvbe: http://sol.planet-d.net/solvbe.html Descent loaded when I last tried it, don't know how playable it would be. As to why minimizing and then maximizing a NTVDM fixes the graphics, when you put NTVDM into fullscreen it access your video hardware directly, when you minimize you go …
