Looks like you don't have the EMS driver installed. Are you using the VDMSound GUI? If you were and you used the shortcut with the little music icon then the EMS driver would already be installed.

http://realtech-vr.com D3D 8.1 to OGL wrapper. and GLDirect is a DX to OGL wrapper. NOT an OGL to DX. The built-in wrapper in 2K/XP uses D3D to emulate OGL. If your card does not support D3D then the OGL emulation does not work. This emulation works best with Quake engine games.

Yep, There is no reason whatsoever to install a game in another OS and then copy the files to 2K/XP. Every install error that I have encountered have been fixed by the 2000/XP Compatibility Shortcut Layer or the Application Compatibility Toolkit.

Difference between 98 & 98SE. You can download all of the updates from Microsoft for Windows 98 and it will be 98SE...except it will be missing one little feature ICS (Internet Connection Sharing). This came with 98SE. Everything else could be downloaded.
