Re: PowerVR Fun Thread

Okay I tried the Herbert patch and now it won't start at all (crappy game!). What I have discovered is that if I leave PowerVR HAL enabled in the PVR tab, the D3D image (this includes DxDiag, Herbert and Motorhead) will be corrupted with boxes of junk covering the screen. For DxDiag or Motorhead, …

Re: PowerVR Fun Thread

Well it's mostly good news; I got an Xpert 2000 128 Rage Pro card. I tried the WME_R128_4_13_7192 drivers, available from https://www.philscomputerlab.com/ati-9x-driver-archive.html and Vogonsdrivers, but both said "Severe" then said not compatible. Eventually this Vogonsdrivers set worked for me: …

Re: PowerVR Fun Thread

I can see there's a good bunch of ATi Rage Pro/Ultra models out there, both Pro and Pro Ultra , which seem identical in specs? Over on eBay, are there any preferred types? For instance I've seen a Connect3D red board both with TV (seems to be less common) and without TV . Then there are the boards …

Re: PowerVR Fun Thread

Right some good news: I put on DX7.0a (I was running DX6.1) and now D3D finally works on MX440, both in DxDiag test (where AGP support is also enabled now) and also in Motorhead (that I have to hand). Johnny Herbert crashes to desktop, bit it's a rather flakey game. P.S. as running the PowerVR …

Re: PowerVR Fun Thread

Voodoo2 is a 3D-only card, it'd be Voodoo3 for 2D/3D. Matrox Millennium might be good idea, as I used before, but I have no idea which I had, as they all have various numbers (from II to G450, G550 etc). Are there any programs I can use to audit the MX440 to see what's causing the D3D problems, …

Re: PowerVR Fun Thread

I'm on these, from vogonsdrivers at mo, and Moon Racer is fast but locked up mid race: nVidia Detonator/FW Driver v40.72 WHQL Win9X setup I ran these but Moon Racer had flickery menus: nVidia Detonator/FW Driver v45.23 Win9X setup OR nVidia Detonator/FW Driver v45.23 Win9X (Gf FX) I tried these and …
