I found the game to lock up a lot, the fix was to go into the game folder and delete mssa3d.m3d and mssa3d2.m3d from the Superbike 2001/Miles folder. These are 3D sound files and cause the game to crash for some reason... that fixed the game locking up after the intro video for me!

It's caused by anti-aliasing or ansiotropic filtering as these games weren't made with those features in mind and ATI don't do it very well with older games leading to these lines.
