Indeed, i have finished gta vc an have mw4 installed which both are very playable on the vd5. Half Life 2 maybe? Medal of honor aa, sh, bt. Also work fine, even on a vd2 sli. But anything newer than these games?

I was searching on the internet if Halo (from 2003) would run on the Voodoo 5 5500, and apparently it does. But are there even newer games that will still work on this card? Like triple A games? Just wondering.

Thanks for the explanation, that's not what's going on here. The 3dMark99 1st test runs at a pegged 75FPS all the time, but when the card if "acting up" it will drop as low as 30ish. If run from boot after resting for a while you can run the demo many times and nothing will happen, but the longer …

Hmmm I am always puzzled, why people use cards that are so much newer then the processor they are using. If you use a k6-3 500mhz. Why go higher then a voodoo 3 3000 / a TNT 2 pro or ultra card. True, at least i know for sure that the fastest amd processor will be the athlon k7 1400B the thunderbird model 4 aka A1400AMS3B. After that the fsb goes to 133mhz.

I totally agree with Kolderman. The voodoo 5 5500 even plays gta 3 and gta vice city at a grand level. The latter better then the first. On the latesr glide games it shines like a star, but you have to go for the complete late 3dfx experience to even want to use one. I honoustly would never pay 300 …

I found out that with a cpu, better than a p3 1.6 ghz or an athlon 1,5ghz will get the best out of the 3dfx vd5 5500.
